Probably the most ried and true method of saving food that is still in wide use to day is the mason jar. Bottling foods in a glass jar was found, long ago, to be a great way to preserve them. Even though they have been around so long, they are still readily available and are in high use today.

Glass food saver jars are often sealed at the opening using wax, rubber, or silicon in order to keep the food fresh and the seal air tight.
